Where Land, Learning, and Meadow-Building Meet
Walk the path with a Meadow Coach or lean on our team for full-service meadow establishment.
Wildbud Meadow Coaching and Establishment Management are designed for landowners, landscape professionals, and organizations who want to create and nurture thriving meadows that promote ecological function and habitat diversity. Whether you want professional guidance while you install your own meadow or prefer hands-on help from our exceptional field team, we’re here to create the experience that’s right for you.
If your curiosity or experience has led you here, you’re likely already on the verge of falling in love with native plants, biodiversity, and conservation—at the very least. You know you want to change your landscape, but you want to do so thoughtfully and in a way that benefits the web of life around you. And while meadow building is certainly a way to landscape, it is so much more. Creating a meadow invites you into a deeper relationship with the natural world—one many of us have forgotten is possible. It’s a leap and journey into patience, wonder, observation, beauty, and science.
Choosing to work with Wildbud means not only building beautiful meadowscapes, but also learning the techniques and interconnected knowledge required to bring a tired lawn or invasive-choked space back to vibrant life. Our approach is grounded in large-scale conservation principles, supported by scientific understanding, and can be applied to restore vast stretches of conserved land or parks. Just as importantly, it can be brought into intimate, residential spaces—because we believe that reweaving this connection into daily human environments can soften the divide between people and nature, ultimately transforming the health of our world.
If you already have a meadow but need help, our Establishment Management service might be the right path for you. In the early stages after planting, meadows require some supportive management to fully establish into thriving, functional habitats. Establishment Management is Wildbud's expert hands-on supportive management approach. Our highly experienced field team performs site-specific plant and weed ID, selective or growth-promoting mowing, weed cutting or pulling, re-seeding, targeted invasive removal, and many other techniques to support a newly planted meadow. This management is more than just weeding and mowing- it is performed by a trained eye who knows what plants -- from seedling stage to flowering stage -- belong to a native meadow and what do not; what weeds are annuals and what grasses are invasives- and what they mean about the progress of the meadow. They understand the natural challenges and rhythms that specific sites have- and how to work in alignment with them.
All projects start the same way—with an in-person Meadow Mapping Visit at the site of your future meadow. Our expert coaches will walk the property with you, take measurements, and discuss your vision. During this visit, we’ll answer your questions, begin conceptualizing your meadow, and outline the service options that best support your goals. After the visit, we will send you a detailed guide recapping everything we discussed, an estimate of the services suitable for you, and an interactive timeline and plan to assist you going forward. For some folks, a Meadow Mapping visit might be all you need to jumpstart your meadow project, for others it marks the beginning of a more immersive path of stewardship alongside Wildbud. The first few years of meadow establishment can be challenging, and our team knows what to look for and what to do to ensure that the meadow is being cared for in a way that nurtures a long-term, sturdy plant community. They are also highly skilled in communicating these nuances in ways that clients can quickly understand.
Integrate both Establishment Management and Coaching together: One of these services might fit your needs just right, however, learning and doing at the same time will enhance your meadow's life and your experience- making sure you have an intimate knowledge and trained eye for your own meadow.
